PneumoTRACE

Pneumococcal Carriage Surveillance and Modeling

PneumoTRACE provides real-time insights into the epidemiology of pneumococcus. It combines active sampling of pneumococcal carriage across a broad range of ages with local data on invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) and custom analytics, to give a more complete picture of changes in the serotypes circulating in the population and causing severe disease. Sampling started in January 2026 and continues on a rolling basis, with reports issued every 6 months. The data are collected as a collaborative effort between the research groups of Nate Grubaugh and Dan Weinberger at Yale School of Public Health.

Sample Collection Period

Samples were collected from January 03, 2026 to July 04, 2026 (1576 total samples)
